What's New in Wyn Enterprise Server v6.1

The winter release of Wyn Enterprise is here. As the business world is constantly changing and over 1.145 trillion MB of data per day is being produced, the need for a business intelligence solution to be proactive is essential. With this release of Wyn, new data management functionality to help customers address their analytics and business process needs will help to address the need for proactive BI. Additionally, enhancements to the internationalization capabilities of the platform have been added along with customer requested features.

 

Deliver Documents More Efficiently
Take the pain out of sending reports and documents with scheduling. New to Wyn 6.1, Document Binding allows you to combine multiple documents (Reports and Dashboards) to be distributed together as part of a scheduled tasks, rather than sending multiple emails/messages to the recipient with different documents. This is a much more efficient and productive way to get information out.

Built-in Support for Single Sign-On (SSO) Providers
Wyn can now integrate directly with Single Sign-On authentication providers like Okta, Azure, Google, OpenId, OAuth2, CAS, AWS Cognito, etc. This is a great features for Enterprise IT teams. It enables them to manage users across multiple business applications using common Authentication across all applications.


Internationalization Enhancements
As businesses continue to grow and expand, they are becoming more and more global. Because of this, Internationalization is an important part of any software. New internationalization enhancements for Wyn 6.1 include:

  • Optimized Language Pack Design with a new built-in language pack editor in the admin portal.

  • Support for Language Pack Export to Excel for translation outside of the server.

  • Support for Document Name localization

  • Support for Category Name localization


UI Customizations and Actions Availability control for embedded Portal scenarios
SaaS product providers now have more control over what they want to enable from the Document Portal for their end users. Providers have more control over the UX as well as the capabilities available using feature settings on the Admin Portal. Enhancements that make this possible include:

  • Click to Preview behavior for document lists

  • Hide the Information tab based on roles

  • Control schedule task delivery options available for end users.

  • Hide Personal Categories in Document Portal



Server Architecture Enhancements:
New enhancements that bring more possibilities for customers to embed Wyn functionality in their web applications include:

  • API v2 (API enhancements and consolidation into RESTful API)

  • Support for ClickHouseDB as cache database for analytic datasets and models.

  • Optimization of memory usage and overall performance under high concurrency deployments.

  • Wyn Application Theme Designer natively available as part of the Admininstrator Portal

 

Improved support for SDLC Release cycles
Improvements to Export and Import functionality to support standard software development release process for resources publishing from Dev → QA → UAT → Prod environments. This includes support of the process using scripting. This enables better support for use cases where IT and Dev teams need to manage stock reports and dashboards as part of software release processes for Enterprises and Software Providers.


Data Engine Enhancements

  • Native Query support for Dashboard data preparation

  • Support for DirectQuery with Native Query for ElasticSearch datasources.

  • Analytic Data Models can now connect with Excel Files using DirectQuery

  • Native support for InfluxDB

  • Dynamic connection settings for Schema based datasource access

 

Additional customer requested enhancements:
As with all releases of Wyn Enterprise, we reserve a part of the roadmap for customer requests. In this release, this includes the following:

  • OEM Deployment automation: Users can use this new feature for initializing data, documents, configurations using scripts.

  • Organization Updates: Users can now move Organizations across Organization hierarchies. You can also now secure organization created documents within the organization structure only.

  • Additional Features: Added Weekly recurrence in Scheduled Tasks.
